چکیده

Heavy metals are one of the factors that pollute environment and significantly affect soil fertility, plant physiology, development, productivity. The tolerance plants to toxicity depends on species tissue, element type, duration exposure stress. Some special signal molecules such as nitric oxide (NO), hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), beneficial ions, hyperaccumulating plants, stress hormones, nanoparticles, organic compounds, microbial applications can be recommended alleviate effects caused by toxic heavy in plants. Induction other promising techniques like seed priming, active involvement growth regulator, use osmoprotectants, successful microbes’ crosstalk recent utilization nanoparticles worth using strategies mitigation metal These practices effectively regulate activities antioxidant enzymes for alleviation creditably improving via preserving cell homeostasis amending adversative inventive offer an enriched understanding how boost crop productivity under order decrease risk global food security.

Heavy metals toxicity in plants: An overview on the role of glutathione and phytochelatins in heavy metal stress tolerance of plants

Plants experience oxidative stress upon exposure to heavy metals that leads to cellular damage. In addition, plants accumulate metal ions that disturb cellular ionic homeostasis. To minimize the detrimental effects of heavy metal exposure and their accumulation, plants have evolved detoxification mechanisms. Such mechanisms are mainly based on chelation and subcellular compartmentalization. Che...

Proteomics of heavy metal toxicity in plants.

Plants endure a variety of abiotic and biotic stresses, all of which cause major limitations to production. Among abiotic stressors, heavy metal contamination represents a global environmental problem endangering humans, animals, and plants. Exposure to heavy metals has been documented to induce changes in the expression of plant proteins. Proteins are macromolecules directly responsible for mo...

Heat tolerance in plants: An overview

Heat stress due to increased temperature is an agricultural problem in many areas in the world. Transitory or constantly high temperatures ause an array of morpho-anatomical, physiological and biochemical changes in plants, which affect plant growth and development and may ead to a drastic reduction in economic yield. The adverse effects of heat stress can be mitigated by developing crop plants...

Cellular mechanisms for heavy metal detoxification and tolerance.

Heavy metals such as Cu and Zn are essential for normal plant growth, although elevated concentrations of both essential and non-essential metals can result in growth inhibition and toxicity symptoms. Plants possess a range of potential cellular mechanisms that may be involved in the detoxification of heavy metals and thus tolerance to metal stress. These include roles for the following: for my...
